📣 A wee mortgage appointment reminder…
Over the last few weeks we’ve had to rearrange a number of appointments because we haven’t received the documents we ask for when your appointment is booked.
When you book with us, we explain that you’ll receive an email detailing exactly what we need, when we need it, and that if we don’t receive everything at least 24 hours before your appointment, we may need to reschedule.
This isn’t us being awkward. We genuinely cannot give mortgage advice without seeing the documents first.
Whilst we absolutely love a chat, nobody wants to spend half their appointment scrolling through emails looking for payslips, downloading bank statements, resetting online banking passwords.
We’re a busy wee office with back-to-back appointments and calls throughout the day. We prepare for every appointment in advance so that when you arrive, we can focus on what matters such as answering your questions, exploring your options and helping you move forward.
Without the documents, we often can’t do that. In some cases, the appointment becomes little more than a document-gathering exercise and we still can’t provide advice until everything has been reviewed afterwards.
For a small business, that wasted appointment time is time that could have been offered to another client who is ready to proceed.
So please, if you’ve got an appointment booked with us, check your emails and get those documents over. Your future self will thank you. ❤️
P.S. “I’ll bring them with me” is not a strategy. 😂
