I was delighted to guest on Jackie Groundsell's 12.30 TWC Business Beat Radio show this week. The show appears to be a mixed bag - but whilst I spoke mostly about how public speaking can significantly improve your leadership skills, I am also a trans woman and have a lot of experience with HRT - the other main topic of the show.

Join us for a lively discussion that will appeal to any woman moving into mid life.

1230 TWC business Beat Radio Show is a weekly Radio Show presenting an airwaves window of opportunity for entrepreneurial Businesswomen to be heard.

I just signed the petition calling on Chancellor Rachel Reeves not to scrap the Winter Fuel Allowance for MILLIONS of struggling pensioners - just as energy bills are about to go up again! Will you add your name too?

It’s my birthday today and I would like to thank everyone who has already sent me birthday wishes. This always reminds me that I have a huge network of wonderful friends and acquaintances, despite spending most of my time in my “Dining Room, Office and Broadcast Studio.”

Some of you will be aware that I set up my Speakers Ecademy last year but unfortunately, I had some problems with my eyes which has resulted in multiple surgeries and treatment and my plans faltered.

The good news is that I still have my sight, although not as good as it was. As a result, I have reactivated my plans and found a fantastic new home for the Speakers Ecademy and I invite you to come and check it out at https://lnkd.in/ehN9t9tf

Why would this be of interest to you?

Quite simply I am aiming to create a vibrant community of like-minded people who want to use the power of public speaking to change the world. By this, I’m not just thinking about grand stages or vast audiences. This is about speeches that spark change, create lasting impacts and help to establish you as a thought leader.

I envisage a community of people, passionate about helping each other to become better at captivating audiences, whether that is motivating your team at work or inspiring supporters of your cause or empowering your clients.

I received an email from a friend last week in which he said:

"When I reflect on my professional speaking, there’s rarely been a time when you were not instrumental in helping me improve and grow... The Saturday spent with you and a handful of others in Birmingham was most definitely the most valuable single day spent on speaking, in my whole business life. Everything I have done since, including consultancy, stems from that day. ...and I’ve done a lot of speaking. India, Nepal, Australia, USA, Canada, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Ireland, UK & Channel Isles...thank you for all you’ve done for me over the years. Lee Clarke"

That’s what I mean when I talk about Changing the World. Every speech is like a pebble in a pond – the ripples go on and on. So if the idea of joining a community of people who are passionate about speaking appeals to you, come and join us. It’s entirely free and will always be so, as will the program of Weekly and Monthly meetings.

I will be making some paid services available, – but I promise you will not be bombarded with sales messages – I have reached an age where, with nearly 50 years of experience in speaking and training, my aim in life is to share some of what I have learned and… well, help to create some positive change in the world.

I look forward to seeing you there - https://lnkd.in/ehN9t9tf

International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia

Today, 17th May, is an incredibly important day for the LGBTQ+ community – IDAHoBiT.

This day isn't just another date on the calendar; it’s a global call to action against homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia. It’s a reminder that we all have a part to play in creating a world where everyone feels safe and respected, regardless of who they love or how they identify.

You might wonder, why is this day so crucial? Well, despite the progress we’ve made, discrimination and harassment are still daily realities for many LGBTQ+ individuals. These injustices aren’t just harmful – they stifle the diversity and inclusivity that can make our workplaces and communities so vibrant and dynamic.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

Call Out Discrimination: When you see or hear something that's not right, speak up. Silence can be interpreted as acceptance, so let’s make sure we're voicing our support for equality.

Be an Ally: Support your LGBTQ+ colleagues, friends, and family members. Show up, listen, and advocate for their rights.

Promote Inclusion: Encourage inclusive practices and policies in your workplace. Celebrate diversity in all its forms.

If you’re passionate about making your workplace or community more inclusive, let's connect! Check out my website at www.genderspeaker.com and Book a no-obligation call with me.

Let's talk about how I can inspire and educate your team with an engaging speech, virtual or in person, at your next equality or lunch and learn event. Together, we can foster an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Let's turn today’s awareness into everyday actions. 🌟

I was honoured to interview LGBTQ trainer and Gender Speaker, Rikki Arundel on my show recently and this is Part 2. In this episode we discuss the easy ways which companies can get the conversation going. Do contact Rikki if you'd like to explore how she may be able to help you and share your thoughts below."
