Where do I even start with my highlights from last week? Without doubt number one was spending precious time with my family, but the other stuff, it is so hard to choose!

Is it the fact that I travelled without my husband, and further away from home than ever before? Or maybe that I drove a car in a country foreign to me, on busy roads, even through Los Angeles where it’s the norm to ‘chop and change’ lanes like stunt drivers (actually maybe they were!). Or maybe that I saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time, or western trail riding, a life long ambition of mine? How do I choose?

When I counsel people at the end of their lives, the things they talk about aren’t the purchases that they made, the bags or jewellery or cars. It about the missed opportunities, the people they loved and maybe lost and the experiences they’ve had, because life is about experiences, taking opportunities and embracing challenges.

Because after all, life is not a rehearsal and we only get one chance at it.

Goodbye is too hard to say, please know I’ll hold you in my heart until next time we are together ❤️
