🍂 The Autumn Budget is getting closer…

With the Budget now just around the corner, there’s plenty of speculation about what could change.

Pensions, tax allowances, savings and the way we plan for the future could all be areas to watch.

But when it comes to your finances, it can be tempting to react to headlines before we know what’s actually going to happen.

The best approach? Stay informed, but don’t make big financial decisions based on speculation.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the announcements on the 28th and what they could mean for financial planning.

Two years ago today, Manders looked more like a construction site than an office. 👷‍♀️🚧

Looking back to 2024, it’s hard to imagine how we managed to work through the constant noise of drilling and banging, whilst directing clients to numerous different parking spaces so they could safely make it into their meetings.

Fast forward to 2026 and it’s hard to remember the office any other way. We now have two additional private meeting rooms, more space for the team and plenty of room to accommodate our ever-expanding workload.

It’s been brilliant to see how much the business has grown, and we’re so grateful to all of our clients, friends and family who have supported us along the way.

Our next exciting chapter is fast approaching with 2027 being our 15th year anniversary...

A little reminder for anyone aged 18–24, or for parents who have children in this age group…

There are still around 827,000 Child Trust Funds yet to be claimed, with the average account worth around £2,310.

Child Trust Funds were set up for children born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011, meaning you could have money sitting there without even realising it.

GOV.UK has a free online tool that can help you find it.

It only takes around 5 minutes to submit a request, so it could be worth checking.

Investors saw a perfect storm this week across financial markets. This culminated in US 10-year Treasury yields reaching 5.1%, a level last seen during the global financial crisis in 2007. The 30-year Treasury yield rose even further, exceeding its level in 2004.

September School in a Bag Update! 🎒

As back-to-school season is now well underway and autumn is with us, many people are approaching us as they feel it is the right time to ‘get their finances in order’.

Sometimes, getting started can feel like a big hurdle when you don’t feel you have the right knowledge or resources to do it alone.

In much the same way, having the right resources can make a huge difference to a child’s education.

On that note, we’re delighted to share that another bag donated through us by one of our new clients has now reached this little girl in India.

Introducing Frankie, the cutest new member of our team.🐾

Jenny is completely in awe of her newest addition to the four-legged family, and safe to say, the rest of the team are just as smitten.

Frankie has already been making plenty of friends and causing a fair amount of distraction in the office. We’re sure it won’t be long before he’s running the place…

Have you ever been so scared of something that even the thought of it ties your brain into knots of anxiety?

Even making the first step can feel like a hurdle to overcome.

We see this with many people during their first meetings with us.

Whether it's someone who has inherited some money and knows that simply leaving it sitting in the bank may not be the most effective option.

Or someone with files full of paperwork, about pensions took out 20, 30 or even 40 years ago. With retirement looming, they know these pensions are going to need to provide them with an income, but they don't know where to start.

You don't need to have all the answers before you walk through the door, it's an adviser's job to start unravelling that string.

Sometimes, the hardest part is just taking that first step.

And once you've taken it, we can start to unravel the knots together.

Just a post to say... have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!

We hope you enjoy the long weekend and get some well-deserved time to relax and enjoy the last of the summer.

Our office will be closed on Monday and will be open again as usual from Tuesday at 9am.

As the heatwave begins to wind down and we approach a new season, it can be a good time to take stock, not just of your wardrobe, but of your finances too.

Your circumstances, priorities and goals can change throughout the year. So why not take a moment to ask yourself:

• Am I on track for the future I want?
• Have my circumstances changed?
• Is my financial plan still working for me?

A change of season can be a useful reminder to review where you are now and where you want to be heading next.

Sometimes, a small review today can make a big difference to your plans for tomorrow.

6 years ago versus... today 🥺

We just had to share this adorable then and now comparison of Paige and Wynston!

Thankfully some things never change, especially Wynston’s love of visiting us in the office.

We love having him pop in regularly for some much-needed quality time and a little distraction from the working day.

We think it’s safe to say he’s still got the same charm! 🐾
