It’s easy to compare mortgages by looking at one number - the interest rate.

But there are other questions worth asking before you decide which deal is right for you. Things like fees, the length of the deal, flexibility and what happens when the initial rate ends can all matter.

The right mortgage isn’t necessarily the one with the lowest headline rate. It’s the one that fits your circumstances. 🏡

A low interest rate will obvlously catch your eye-but it’s not the only thing worth looking at when choosing a mortgage.

You also need to consider things like product fees, early repayment charges, flexibility and whether the mortgage actually suits your circumstances.

Two mortgages can look very similar on the surface but work very differently for you over the full deal period. The cheapest rate isn’t automatically the cheapest mortgage.
