"Andrew and his team have been managing my private pensions for the past 12 months. They merged my private pensions and have developed an individual plan for my retirement. Andrew is extremely knowledgeable and up to date with finance issues and pensions, very easy to talk to. I'm more than happy with the service I have received, I only wish I had listened to good advice years ago, to go and see him earlier."

We are delighted to say we have achieved the first step in the Shine Accreditation with the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority .

To receive certification for this, we have had to demonstrate our commitment to prioritising employee health, safety and wellbeing, thus providing a workplace that protects and supports people.

We know that having staff who feel valued and supported benefits our clients, as well as those on the team. Achieving this, the first 'beam of good practice', is just one way of doing this. If you are up on your awareness days, you might know that it is Financial Awareness Day today! Financial Awareness Day reminds us of the importance of knowing what is happening with our finances, and why. Afterall, if we don't know where we are, or where we want to be, how will we ever get there?

Our staff have had a think about their top tips relating to finance and are here to share them with you. How many of these have you already done? Are there any you need to find out more about? We recently had the pleasure of supporting a work experience student in our office at Shiney Row. Lily came to us for a few days this month to learn more about the industry and how the world of financial management works. Through working with the team in the office Lily found out more about the roles required to support clients, as well as time spent with Andrew to increase her understanding of appointments, portfolios and the industry in general.

Lily told us that she wanted to make the most out of her work experience and learn how to present herself and act within a place of work. She said 'I wanted to work in a team to develop my social and teamwork skills in a work environment. By working with Morrell Financial Management I knew I could find out more about running a successful business, and meeting the needs of clients and employees.'

Not only did Lily benefit from the experience, but we benefited too. Lily completed completed some analysis and research tasks to support some of the marketing work that is done behind the scenes. We always like to hear fresh ideas and new perspectives, and we really enjoyed being able to support Lily in her placement.

Well done Lily it was a pleasure to have you working with us - you did yourself, and your school, proud. Keep up the good work!

Meet Jenna!

Jenna is the newest member of the Morrrell Financial Management team and is the Review Administrator (you may have seen our recent advert).

Jenna comes to us with a strong admin background, having worked in admin roles for a number of years. She has settled in well so far and has been developing her understanding of the processes we use and how best to support our clients.

Jenna has said "I'm really enjoying my new role with Morrell Financial Management, and getting to know the team has been brilliant. I'm looking forward to meeting more of the clients as they come into the office and I'll be working hard to make sure they are supported and have everything they need before and after their appointments."

We are really pleased to have Jenna join us, and she is already fitting nicely into the team.

We all love an office dog!

Meet our Chief Wellbeing Officer, Luca. A firm favourite with clients, as well as staff, Luca provides essential wellbeing services through the need for walks and fuss - getting willing staff some fresh air and exercise, and supporting both physical and mental health.

As a trustee of Pets As Therapy , our Ops Manager, Helen, is very aware of the benefits having an office dog can bring to staff, and is really keen to encourage this.

Luca has been an essential part of the team since 2019 and is working on his agility and behaviour techniques.

We have already introduce a number of our team members, and now we thought we'd mention Helen,

Helen is a Director of Morrell Financial Management and started working alongside husband Andrew in 2021. Helen felt so passionately about the estate planning side of the business that she took this over in 2022 when she set up Morrell Will Services .

Helen is responsible for the day to day management of the business, looking after staff and keeping everyone on track. Helen is very much a people person, something that has been confirmed by the comments of many clients she has brilliant relationships with. Helen also completed a stint in stand up comedy and most definitely brings her humour to the office.

Helen loves to see clients in the office and has a knack for being able to offer the right support at the right time. Caring, compassionate and understanding, she is an all round 'good egg' - and definitely in the right job.
