So, what has been happening over the past couple of weeks at Bluebell Financial Management?

Well . . .

☀️The sun has been shining👏

🐥The goslings are thriving🙏

💡I enjoyed a lovely ‘brainstorming’ lunch with Louise Newton, Kate Henry, Fiona Mahoney (Reminiscence Learning) and Gemma Lindsay (The Coastal Boutique) - exciting plans are afoot with these fabulous ladies – watch this space! 👀

🎪We didn’t watch cricket on Saturday but instead visited the Devon County Show and enjoyed a lovely pit stop and great hospitality with Kerstin and Alex at the Air-Seal Products tent 🛞 👏

Despite it being Bank Holiday and annual leave for some of the team, we’ve been busy with . . .

We also received our 28th 5* Google Review – and what a review - it has really blown me away! I cannot tell you how much it means to receive feedback like this and how helpful it is to those thinking about enquiring but not knowing what to expect (thank you, Caroline, for taking such time and care, it is hugely appreciated)🙏

🍰This week I had the opportunity to visit Thornfield Care Home in Seaton – where I was delighted to see they talk my language – the language of cake – what a sign - who knew there were so many varieties?!

💻I enjoyed a ‘virtual’ coffee catch-up with Vicky Whipp who is at the early stages of her business journey having launched Sage and Elder at the end of last year. Exciting to learn about the services she provides to those making decisions to downsize and/or relocate to be closer to family in later life.

📸Today, a photoshoot with the hugely talented Aisling Magill Photography. The business is ever-changing and I feel it is so important to keep our imagery current and relevant. Both the boys got involved today as they are working within the business over the course of this year, and we used the opportunity to capture some headshots of them too – I can’t wait to see the results. Their reward – a delicious lunch at The Grazing Cow!

It’s hard to put into words how proud I am of these 7 wonderful ladies 🎉👏👏

Last night we all put our fears aside and spent 13 hours in the UK’s most haunted jail, Shepton Mallet Prison!😬🫣

We had no idea what to expect but we immersed ourselves into prison life and have raised over £2,100 so far for Reminiscence Learning which is a dementia charity based in Wellington🎉Thank you so much to everyone who has donated👏👏

It was incredible from start to finish. We learnt more about the fantastic work the charity does from the founder & CEO, Fiona Mahoney. What an inspiration she is and what incredible resources and support this charity provides. It is a hidden gem within our midst providing valuable education on dementia and support way beyond the local community. People really need to know more about this charity so do look them up!

A huge thank you to the wonderful . We walked 15,000 steps, got soaking wet, we crawled, we jumped, we laughed, we had a midnight feast, we hardly slept and have never been so cold in our lives 🥶🥶🥶BUT we had the BEST time….memories to be treasured and all for such a deserving cause….we also met Dick off the telly! 🎉⛓️‍💥👏💜

Running a small business is not for the faint hearted. Some weeks you are flying and others feel a bit more of a rollercoaster.

It has definitely been of the rollercoaster variety for me this week. I am not too sure why. Sometimes it can be a real juggle to manage everyone’s expectations and I have to keep reminding myself to celebrate what I have crossed off the ‘to do’ list rather than berating myself for what is still on there!

That said, this week’s challenges have been interspersed with some really lovely moments:

💐Flowers and chocolates on Monday from Harry, as a thank you for being his player sponsor for the last 2 years. Totally unexpected – but such a lovely gesture. Wishing him the very best of luck in the coming season at Honiton Cricket Club.

🫖An annual review with some of my longstanding clients and then a surprise visit at the end of the day for a cuppa and catch up from a friend and former work colleague who was just passing the door.

⚽Bluebell Financial Management were match sponsor on Wednesday evening at Upottery Football Club. Whilst the result wasn’t as hoped, it’s great to pop down as sponsor, knowing your contribution is appreciated and makes a difference.

💬On Thursday I managed a long-overdue catch-up with the wonderful Bethan (All About You) on my way to a new client appointment. Bethan has been cheerleading Bluebell from day one and I value her input and guidance as the business develops. It was so good to catch up, reflect and hatch a plan together! 👏 🎈Drinks and nibbles in celebration my Dad’s 83rd birthday (aka Bluebell Financial Management's postal delivery service!) finished Thursday off nicely!🎈

💰More recruits are on board - I can't believe we now have a team of six – YES SIX – for the Jail break in aid of Reminiscence Learning! What a fabulous bunch they are. 🥰The week has ended with not one, but two thank you cards adorning my desk. They have made me smile all day. I might not have achieved all that I wanted to this week – but who does? Making a difference though is priceless and to be celebrated 💜👏
