Back in October I shared about my Breast Cancer diagnosis - at the time I had completed 7 rounds of brutal chemo & it was the day before my surgery!
So, I thought it was time to share a little update…in the form of a carousel! 😘
1. The surgery went well, but it totally knocked me. 😅
2. I slowly built up my strength with gentle walks joined by my furry friend 💕
3. Eventually I could hug the boys again❤️
4. And cuddles with pop dog were back on! 🐶
5. I even put some sparkle on and went to see ABBA Voyage - the best treat from
6. I’ve lived in my new cardigan - the best ‘you’ve got this’ gift from my mum 🥰
7. The next step was radiotherapy - the magic machine making mummy better - if you ask Toby & Otto! ☺️
8. We bunked them off school one day to come & see it! 😘
9. When I first saw this timetable I cried! 20 sessions in December (even Boxing Day) but I did it! 💪
10. With cancer killing my festive cheer, it needed a boost… so I picked the tallest tree that would fit in our house! 😆
11. And spent hours under the blanket staring at it! 🎄
12. I became a member of the Daily S**t Storm Survivors Club! 🤣
13. Even though we weren’t hosting any festive parties (like usual 😩) I still put up the disco ball to make me smile! 🪩
14. Cancer did not stop the Elf coming to town!🤶🏻
15. I managed to see in the New Year with PJ’s on & fake fizz in hand! 🙌
16. Me & Toby provided the NYE entertainment !
17. I turned 42! There’s nothing like a birthday to reflect on how things are going and when cancer is in the mix, life isn’t going how you would like, but it was ok🤷🏼♀️
18. I’ve nearly got used to short hair - embracing my headscarf era!
19. Cancer is a journey & mine needs a bit more fight, but I’m very much back at my desk & loving it🙌
20. And finally, I’m reminding myself of this daily👊🏻
To think this time last year I had no idea what was ahead of me. I still can’t believe what I’ve been through in the last 10 months, but I’ve learnt that i’m stronger than I ever thought possible & much braver than I realised! 🙌
Ps: Keep checking. I’m thankful everyday that I get the texts
