This week has been a real reminder of how quickly life can change.

Just this morning I’ve supported someone in their early 50s who has recently been diagnosed with a serious illness. Something they never saw coming.

Like so many people, they had life insurance in place… but hadn’t got round to sorting their will or Lasting Powers of Attorney.

We’re putting everything in place now—but it’s understandably a much more emotional and difficult process than it needed to be.

It really brought home something I say often:

“We never know what’s around the corner.”

Getting your will and LPAs sorted isn’t about being pessimistic—it’s about making life easier for the people you love, whatever happens.

If it’s something you’ve been putting off, take this as your gentle nudge.
