Meet Martin! Martin has been an accountant in industry and consultancy for the first 25 years of his accomplished career, being Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA), Chartered Associate of The London Institute of Banking and Finance (Chartered ALIBF), as well as other specialisms, and a master’s degree in Finance.
Through his experiences dealing with SME owners and their finances, Martin realised that improper qualification, poor customer service, and heavy sales-based approaches present in many financial advice organisations were often leading to clients receiving poor advice and decided to become an IFA himself to help raise the bar. Martin maintains he is an IFA because he understands and espouses the fundamentals of finance, and his strong problem-solving skills allow him to assist clients in creating the most suitable solution as opposed to an easy one.
Whilst not at work, Martin enjoys riding around his small-holding with his partner, home to a rapidly increasing menagerie of horses, ponies, chickens, dogs, and cats – not to mention his two children. Martin also trains in Mixed Martial Arts, and after training enjoys nothing better than jumping over things on his horse.
