I thought this was a good example to show just how different banks/building societies can be in regards to the amount that they will lend.

My client needed to borrow £150,000 in order to purchase the property that he wanted. However, he was rejected by his bank (HSBC) as you can see he fell short by quite a bit on affordability.
He then contacted me without much hope to see if it was possible to get the amount that he needed. After trying with multiple lenders, I eventually found one that would lend enough. We are now going through the mortgage process and he is able to purchase the property that previously seemed out of reach.

This highlights the importance of using a whole of market adviser like myself, instead of going straight to your bank for a mortgage.

As I am looking to expand my presence on social media, I have decided to do a giveaway that anybody can enter. When looking for a mortgage, a lot of people will go direct to their bank. By doing this, they are unaware that they could have been saving money by going to another lender. This is because the bank will only offer their own range of products.

It has been a positive start to 2024 for the mortgage market as lenders have reduced their rates and are continuing to do so. Enquiries have increased and there are actually positive things being mentioned in the news. This is nice to see compared to the previous doom and gloom & we hope that it will continue like this.
