Regardless of how many are around the table, there always seems to be some food left over for our pets. But what on your Christmas dinner plate is actually safe for your dog? 🐶🍽

Safe foods include:
🌲Chicken or turkey with no skin, bones or stuffing
🌲Plain boiled potatoes or plain mashed potatoes with no milk or butter
🌲Plain cooked sweet potatoes
🌲Veggies such as carrots, green beans, peas and broccoli

Remember to keep these in small quantities and to consult with your vet before feeding your pet any foods outside of their typical diet. Watch your pet after they eat something new for any reactions or allergies.

Don’t want your pet to be left out this holiday season? Why not create your own sniff and seek treat for your pet! 🌲🐶🐱

A fun and easy toy to make that’s safe and engaging for your furry friend. Here’s how to make yours:
🎁Grab an empty toilet roll and place one of your pets treats inside
🎁Simply squeeze each end tight to seal and scrunch up the ends
🎁Avoid using tape as your pet could swallow bits of plastic as they tear open their treat toy

Are you taking family photos this holiday season? Include your pet! 🌲🐶🐱

Set up some string lights, a festive backdrop and you’re good to go! Setting up a tripod or safely propping up your camera in front of your shooting area beforehand will help keep sessions shot for your pet! You can use a remote clicker to take your pictures and hide it in your sleeve or hand to obscure it.

Decorating for the holidays is a fun way to welcome the festivities, but did you know some of your favourite plants can be harmful to your pets? 🌿🌲

Poinsettias, lilies, holly, mistletoe, amaryllis, and ivy are all harmful to your pet and can even be toxic. Some safer alternatives include: rosemary mini trees, Christmas cacti (Schlumbergera), orchids, spider plants and air plants.

🎄❄ With the holiday season in full swing, it’s that time of year again to put up the decorations. But as you’re putting up your decorations, the chances are your pet has their eye on taking them down. 🐶🐱

If you’re putting up a tree this year, make sure you keep any edible or fragile ornaments higher up out of your pet’s reach. Be sure to keep your tree away from potential launching points and weight it down with a heavy base to make it sturdy.

It's pumpkin season, but is pumpkin a safe treat for your dog? 🐶

Plain cooked pumpkin or canned pumpkin that has no additional ingredients is safe for dogs and even provides health benefits such as:
🧡Being rich in fibre to help digestion
🧡Being nutrient rich

However, be sure to only give pumpkin in moderation. Pay close attention to how your pet reacts after eating and make sure they stay hydrated with the additional fibre in their diet.
