Wow…I have not been on the socials for a good long while…and I realised it is time to renew my presence here because people started to ask me if I am still operating.

Yes - *Waves* - Hello, I am still here.

If this is your first time coming across my page and posts - I am Kimberley, your friendly neighbourhood babywearing educator…

Merry Christmas - I wish you all the very best the festive season has to offer.

Hold those babies close and should anyone have a problem with that, you have my permission to launch a Brussel sprout at them!

Yesterday, I got to see this photo from 2 years ago! I have SO MUCH LOVE for it!
And here is why:
✨ CPD
✨ Friendships
✨ Neurodiversity and acceptance
✨ Photos and faces

✨ CPD: also known as Continuing Professional/Personal Development. We organise 2 weekends a year where our active consultants get the opportunity to expand on their knowledge and skills, as well as the chance to network and exchange with their peers. That is 4 workshops a year, included in your membership! We have hosted 46 workshops since the school started!! This photo was taken during the Spring CPD 2023

✨ Friendships: the person who took this photo, Suzanne, came into my life when Slingababy was at the very beginning of its journey. She trained with us, she then ran the admin side of things and fuelled my fire. I feel so blessed to have her in my life and I miss her every day. The other person in this photo is Tomlin. Tomlin and I have grown so much together. If you haven’t seen Tomlin’s work yet you are missing out. I will add their link in the comments/tags.
There are so many wonderful people that I have met along the way. The broad collection of the hug members just fill my heart with love.

✨ Neurodiversity and acceptance: Slingababy has always been about celebrating the uniqueness of every family. Whether your brain is wired in its own special way, whether you consider yourself part of a minority, whether you feel like you don’t fit, whoever you are, we will make space for you. We will celebrate you, just as you are 🩷💜🩵. I have been having doubts about my flavour of spicy brain for a long time. I’m still unsure, but mostly I’m OK with being me. Nobody can do it better than me!

✨ Photos and faces: Social media, digital photography, and now AI have all brought a more unified look and expectation over what we look like. It becomes so easy to airbrush ourselves, to feel like our million faces are not as beautiful.
I love nothing more than seeing the glorious faces and expressions that get captured by candid photos. I definitely feel that this is a glorious one of me. I wish there were more photos capturing REAL moments.

Now taking bookings in April…⁣

Hello lovely people - I am taking bookings for April and Easter Holidays are coming up, so please do get in touch if you have a date and time in mind!⁣

A consultation makes a wonderful first Mother’s Day gift too! ⁣

I don’t know if you’ve come across the news story - I am heartbroken to hear of a child’s death whilst being worn in a sling.

My knowledge of the matter is limited, from what I can glean from the news, the child was being carried in an unsafe position to facilitate feeding in an unsafe manner…

This is why I do what I do…It’s about safety and so much more…

I have seen some anger inducing claims that safety advice is not available…

I have seen further claims that baby slings/carriers are to blame…Health organisations are to blame etc etc etc.

How about instead of pointing fingers - We signpost to sling libraries and empower people to enrich themselves once again with the baby carrying knowledge we have lost in the years where selling products has overtaken child rearing value…

My heart is with the family grieving the loss of their little one tonight…

Hello lovelies!⁣

Somehow it’s December again, I’m sure I blinked and suddenly months passed by!⁣

My availability this December is becoming limited (thank you lovely clients!)⁣

I only have 2 consultation slots for 2024 left - 14th and 22nd of December - So please do get in touch if you want to see me before the new year arrives!⁣

I am offering 4 weeks sling hire for the price of 2 for the moment to give everyone some extra time over the festive period to practice and relax⁣

I am taking bookings for January 2025 ⁣

(Pictured a very cold looking white woman with a snuggly earmuff headband on with a pink flower, green wool and white spots on it, she’s raising her shoulders because for some reason that made it feel warmer when the photo was taken) ⁣

Wishing all of my clients and followers a very happy and peaceful Easter - Whether you celebrate or not⁣

Is a sling helping you to enjoy events this bank holiday weekend?⁣

Ours certainly did - We had the pleasure of enjoying a very wet Easter trail - I appreciated having a hand free to hold my umbrella and another to hold my chocolate!⁣

(Pictured a white woman holding a blue and red, golf umbrella - Carrying her toddler on her back, both are covered by a black fleece, designed for babywearing)⁣
