🚨 PLEASE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN
SENDING DEPOSITS! 🚨

We always remind our clients to be cautious when sending deposits for purchases — and this is a perfect reminder of why.

Your phone, smart devices and even your Alexa can be listening to and collecting information about what you’re talking about and searching for. 👀📱

So before you send that deposit, STOP. CHECK. VERIFY.

Make sure you know exactly who you’re sending the money to, double-check the bank details, and if anything feels different or suspicious, pick up the phone and verify it first.

I came across this and thought it was worth sharing as a reminder. Sometimes a few extra minutes of caution can save you thousands. 💷

Stay alert. Stay cautious. And never rush a payment.

E and A's application sailed through. We chased the solicitors for weeks on our end for updates. HSBC were not receiving communication from them, Mortgage Call stepped in as the messenger to send communication between solicitors and lenders and now they're ready to complete on Friday!

They're fully protected with their life, critical illness and income protection should anything happen to either of them.

We wish you mamy happy years in your new home when you collect the keys on Friday!

Mrs M was looking to move home. We've ported her mortgage which means she will take her existing product to her new property to avoid paying ERCs, there was still quite a few months left, we compared moving to a new lender and paying the ERCs against porting and porting saved her a bit of money!

Good luck in your new Chapter!!

FIRST-TIME BUYER? DON’T FORGET THE BORING BUT IMPORTANT STUFF!

Getting the keys to your first home is exciting… but there are a few jobs that are really easy to forget once you’re busy unpacking!

Save this checklist for moving day 👇

🔐 Change the locks
You don’t know who might still have keys to your new home, so changing the locks is a simple way to give yourself peace of mind.

💡 Take meter readings
Take photos of your gas, electricity and water meters on the day you move in. Keep them safe in case you need them later.

📮 Update your address
Don’t forget to tell:
• DVLA
• Your bank & credit cards
• Doctor & dentist
• Employer
• Insurance companies
• HMRC
• Pension providers
• Subscriptions & memberships
• Friends and family

📶 Sort your utilities & broadband
Make sure your energy accounts, water and broadband are all set up in your name.

🏠 Check your home insurance - something we can help you with if you've not yet done it.
Make sure your buildings/contents insurance is active from the appropriate date.

📦 Redirect your post
Royal Mail redirection can help stop important letters going to your old address.

And finally… ENJOY IT!

Buying your first home can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to remember everything at once. Make a checklist, tick things off and take it one job at a time.

Share this with anyone who is looking to get on the property ladder or moving home as a reminder of everything you need to do!
