❌Problems…
It’s inevitable that every business will face problems, but what are the most common ones in the event industry, and how can you avoid them?
💸Budget:
Instead of planning as you go and having no boundaries with your budget, be proactive and create a spreadsheet with all potential and required expenses. This will allow you to keep on track with your spendings, and ensure everything is taken into account.
It is extremely common to forget that you may need some extra room in your plan, whether that’s for any hiccups you may face or any extras at the last minute.
⏰Time:
We all know time is precious, and time is money.
It is critical to be prepared if things do not go as planned during the planning process. Expect important people to be late, quotes to arrive late, printed invitations to be incorrect, and so on. According to Murphy's law, "whatever can go wrong, will go wrong."
However, if you begin the planning process early enough and keep a planning calendar, you will have more control over the timeframe. You will also give yourself enough time to deal with any problems that arise and disrupt your schedule.
📝Backup Plan:
You should always have a backup plan in case of last-minute cancellations or problems. Reserving a venue, inviting speakers or artists, and gathering supplies are all critical components to the success of your event.
However, if any of these options fails, you must have a backup plan in place to ensure that you can still host a successful event that your audience enjoys. Prepare for poor weather by providing shelter or selecting an indoor venue to eliminate those concerns.
