I watched a really interesting program Disease X: Hunting the Next Pandemic.

They used an analogy of if you watched the weather forecast & it was 3% chance of rain ☔️ would you take an umbrella?…..probably not was most people’s answer. If it was a 50% chance of rain would you take an umbrella? …..yes was the answer.

Asides from a pandemic - we already know that cancer stats are 1 in 2 people. Yet how many of us have no Critical Illness Cover, or Income Protection. I know those stats, and more so for Income Protection the people with cover is very low.

Not only can these policies clear debts, mortgages and/or replace your salary (up to max 70% for Income Protection), but they have many other features. Like second medical opinions, children’s cover, hospitalisation cover, and more depending on your policy.

I have been on every side of this, as an adviser, as a claimant. Please look into your need, existing cover and review your policy. Speak to an adviser if in doubt - you are protecting yourself, your family and your lifestyle 🫶🏻

As an I.F.A of too many years - the job can have all sorts of challenges. Today’s win (a win at 9:18am is the best way to start a day), my client realised he had made a mistake on a tax reclaim I had advised him to do.

He texted me this morning to say he’s getting £4k with a further £2k to follow. I feel like I’ve personally had a win 🏆 too. Delighted for him.

If you pay Higher Rate Tax, please remember to contact HMRC at the end of every year to reclaim the tax relief. They will not inform you of this!!! Stay in that hold queue….the 40minute wait could be worth a lot of £££££!!!
