Autumn hazards every pet owner should know ☣️
Beautiful autumn walks can come with hidden dangers for our pets. From fallen leaves to Halloween treats, knowing what to look out for can help keep them safe.
Watch out for:
• Antifreeze: Highly toxic, even in small amounts. Keep spills away from pets and clean them up immediately.
• Rodenticides: Rat and mouse poisons can be extremely dangerous if eaten.
• Wild mushrooms: Some can cause serious illness and may be hidden beneath fallen leaves.
• Acorns and fallen nuts: These can cause stomach problems and, in some cases, more serious complications.
• Chocolate and xylitol: Keep Halloween treats safely out of reach. Chocolate and xylitol-containing products can be dangerous to pets.
A little awareness can make a big difference. If you think your pet has eaten something potentially toxic, contact your vet or an emergency veterinary service immediately.
