🚗 The Blue Badge is a UK parking permit for people with disabilities or extra mobility needs. It lets badge holders park in disabled bays, at on street meters and pay and display zones – usually without any charge or time restrictions.

Plus, holders can park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours (as long as traffic isn’t being obstructed). It doesn’t give a free pass everywhere though! Holders cannot park where a loading ban is in force, on red routes, in specific reserved bays like taxi or doctor spaces, or where they cause an obstruction (such as near school zig-zags, junctions, or dropped kerbs).

☀️ We’ve come to the end of our tour of wheelchair accessible destinations in the UK. This time we’re visiting Kew Gardens in London.

☀️ Our tour of accessible UK destination continues this time to The Eden Project in Cornwall.

The Eden Project 🌺 has built inclusion into the visitor experience from the very beginning, making it easier for wheelchair users to explore everything from tropical rainforests to Mediterranean landscapes. With wheelchair and mobility scooter hire available and excellent access across most of the site, it’s a destination where curiosity can take centre stage.

☀️ We’re continuing our tour of accessible destinations across the UK. This time we’re heading to Scotland’s capital city for a visit to Edinburgh Castle.
