Will mortgage rates come down?
It’s probably one of the most common mortgage questions we’re hearing at the moment.
And the truthful answer is — nobody knows for certain.
There will always be forecasts, predictions and speculation about where interest rates might go next, but making one of your biggest financial decisions purely on the hope that rates will fall can be risky.
A much more useful question is:
👉 When should I start looking at my options?
Quite often, the answer is earlier than people realise.
Depending on your lender and circumstances, it may be possible to secure a new mortgage rate several months before your existing deal comes to an end — giving you time to consider your options properly rather than leaving everything until the final few weeks.
And if things change before your new mortgage begins? That may be something your adviser can review with you too.
So rather than trying to second-guess exactly what interest rates will do next, concentrate on the things you can control: planning ahead, understanding your options and getting advice early.
If your current mortgage deal is approaching its end, speak to the team at Cornell & Company Financial Planning.
A conversation now could give you far more options later.
