What is the criteria for this new mortgage product with Santander?
🏠 Minimum Deposit of £10,000

🏠 Borrowing between £190,001 and £500,000
🏠 Not available for those who are Self Employed

We wanted to share a challenge that is fast approaching for the Mortgage Time team and are looking for YOU to support us!

Now, many of our followers know how important Maggie's Edinburgh is to us and how important the work they carry out in Edinburgh is and so we are taking part in a 5K (10K for some of us!) Inflatable Obstacle Course on the 30th August 2025!

We have family and friends who have used the Maggie's Centre and the support and advice they provide is invaluable to the users and has been described as a life line when its needed the most.

The team at Mortgage Time have seen the work that Maggie's do and so we want to give back and help raise as much money as possible for the centre as they need the funds to keep the vital work going!

🚨 NEW PRODUCT ALERT 🚨

A new product has been announced by Skipton Building Society to further help First Time Buyers onto the property ladder!

They understand that moving home can come with so many costs such as removal costs, rent still to be paid on a previous rental, stamp duty to name just some of the few and that is why they have announced the 'Delayed Start Mortgage' which will allow you to complete on your mortgage but not make any mortgage payment for the first 3 months!

How it works
🏠 Delayed payments for three months: No mortgage repayments are due for the first three months after completion, but interest does accrue from day one.
🏠 Range of fixed rate options: Clients can fix their interest rate for two or five years.
🏠 High LTV: Clients could borrow up to 95% of the property value, meaning they may only need a 5% deposit.

There are some other criteria that needs to be met with this mortgage and so ask your Mortgage and Protection adviser at Mortgage Time for more information!

🚨 LIFT SCHEME IMPORTANT UPDATE 🚨

The Low Cost Initiative for First Time Buyers (LIFT) scheme have today announced an important update regarding funding for 2025/2026.

They have confirmed that funding has become available for priority groups only and currently this DOES NOT include first time buyers who are residing at home.

Priority Groups eligible for funding in 2025/26 are:

• Social renters (people who rent from a Council or Registered Social Landlord)
• People with a disability who can demonstrate a housing need
• Members of the armed forces
• Veterans who have left the armed forces within the past two years
• Widows, widowers and other partners of service personnel who have lost their life while serving in the armed forces within the last two years
• People aged over 60 with a housing need are a priority group who do not need to take out a mortgage.
