Did you know Scottish Friendly's roots stretch back more than 160 years?

Originally known as the City of Glasgow Friendly Society, "friendly societies" were created to support people and bring communities together.

More than a century and a half later, being friendly is still at the heart of everything we do. Not just for our members of today, but those for tomorrow, and the local communities that we serve.

Jill Mackay, Head of Marketing & Digital CX at Scottish Friendly, is taking part in today's Association of Financial Mutuals Marketing Forum.

Jill joins fellow industry experts for the panel discussion, "TV – Old School, Analogue and Pricey?", exploring the evolving role of television in modern marketing strategies following the launch of our very first TV Advert earlier this year.

The discussion will cover how brands are balancing traditional and digital channels, measuring effectiveness, and reaching audiences in an increasingly fragmented media landscape.

Events like these provide an excellent opportunity to share insights, challenge perceptions and discuss how marketeers can continue to drive impact in a rapidly changing environment.

A proud part of our history

Pictured here is a statue of John Stewart, who founded the City of Glasgow Friendly Society in 1862 (and renamed over a century later to Scottish Friendly Assurance Society Limited in 1992). His vision helped establish a mutual built on supporting people and their families which are the values that continue to guide us today.

We're proud to celebrate the people who helped shape our story.
