Client Chris came to me with a goal….to achieve a 6 pack, a goal that had eluded him in previous diet phases
This alone gave me the determination to map out a plan that not only allowed him to achieve a 6 pack, but also achieve this with way less cardio than he was doing during previous diet phases
The first Phase we utilised was a Body Recomp Phase, I will often use this phase to assess how the body progresses with the new structure of the Training and Nutrition
Small tweaks will be made weekly to ensure that progressions in the gym are being made, and that body fat is also dropping in a progressive manner
Combining the strength progressions in the gym with the thermogenic effect of food, will help drop body fat alone from the initial outset
Once this phase starts to stagnate a little, we will then look to enter an Aggressive Diet Phase, to really push the fat loss
This phase is generally reserved to drop stubborn fat areas, utilising cardio as the main additional tool to add to the training and nutrition plan
In order to ensure a plan works you most always do it progressively and most importantly plan something which is manageable over at least a 3-4 month period
Avoid the temptation of throwing everything but the kitchen sink from the outset…..Overcommitting the can lead to early setbacks and a cycle of yo-yo dieting and binge eating
