🇬🇷🩵 Andrea's Family Holiday in Zante 🇬🇷🩵
🏝️ I have just returned from a 7 Night break at 4* Princess Hotel Zante in Tsilivi with my husband, children and friends as we were celebrating the wedding of our friends. We travelled with Jet 2 Holidays from Newcastle with amazing day time flights. Our transfer from airport was by coach and took around 30 minutes.
🥐 The hotel is a small family-run option in a fantastic location, surrounded by an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants in the immediate area. The hotel was predominantly adult focused and offered Bed & Breakfast or Self Catering. The breakfast at the hotel was very low key, but adequate for what we would want with cereals, pastries, toast, breads, fruit and a selection of hot items, fruit juices, teas and coffee.
There was a pool side bar which had a fantastic selection of food and drinks and at very reasonable prices. The owners and staff were all very friendly and on hand to assist and looked after us very well during our stay.
🍸 The hotel was surrounded by some beautiful restaurants and bars along the main street where you could find a mix of traditional Greek tavernas through to upmarket Instagrammable options. A 10 min walk would take you down to the beach or further into the main resort where you could find a mini golf area with around 6 different themed courses and further along, a fun park and waterpark so great for the kids (and big kids 🤪).
💒 We celebrated the wedding of our friends Sarah and Andrew at the beautiful Aresti Restaurant which had stunning views of the Ionian sea. We had an amazing afternoon and night being treated to the best Greek hospitality - great food, drinks, traditional Greek dancers and a DJ and disco.
🚂 We took the Fun Train from Tsilivi to Zante Town which cost 43 Euros for our family and we left Tsilivi at 6.45pm and returned from Zante Town at 10pm. We had time to walk along the promenade and admire the luxury yachts moored up as well as experience the locals going about their everyday jobs.
We dined at one of the top rated tavernas in Zante Town on Trip Advisor - Ammos Taverna. The food and service here was second to none.
🐢 We also took another trip out to do Turtle Spotting and visit Turtle Island. There were so many turtle eggs marked out on the island and it was all marked off so visitors could not go near them and disturb them. The waters around the bay were crystal clear making it easy to spot the Caretta Turtles and the most stunning turquoise blue waters surrounded the island.
🏍️ My husband and a few others in our party hired quad bikes and did a tour of the Northern Coast of the island and stopped at some amazing view points and beaches along the way. They had so much fun and had a great day out.
☀️ The weather was absolutely perfect - very hot throughout the days and most evenings, we had a slight breeze to help cool us down.
✨ I would highly recommend Tsilivi in Zante - so much so, I'm looking to go back next year.
