Did you know that today is International Virtual Assistants Day?

For the last three years we’ve worked with We Are Neidin

They are our Virtual Assistants 🥰

Working remotely they quickly became an integral part of our family business!

Gemma and Matt instantly understood our brand, our ethos and style of business.

What do they do?

Adam 🙋🏻‍♂️ found that he was to “passionate” when it came to chasing unpaid invoices. Gemma and Matt took over that role allowing them to manage difficult business relationships.

They created our old website

They add on any receipts created from purchases to our accounting software

Our contractors submit their invoices to We Are Neidin which are then uploaded to our accounting software

They researched and found us a much better deal when it came to insurance renewals

Matt and Gemma have been a blessing since the start.

Yesterday I nearly missed the moment.

With our eldest preparing for SATs, daily puppy training and two hours of dog walks, the never-ending laundry pile, and all the work we’re doing for our wonderful clients, I completely forgot about a 20-minute multiplication drop-in at our youngest's school.

When I said “I’ve got work to do,” I saw the disappointment on my daughter’s face. That mum guilt hit hard. I got into the car, ready to drive off… but then I stopped. I remembered why we started We Are Neidin — to create a life that gave us flexibility. So we could be there for our children and build something meaningful.

So I turned back and walked back into school. The look of joy and surprise on her face when she spotted me was something I’ll never forget.

It was just 20 minutes, but it reminded me how far we’ve come. And why we built this business in the first place — for flexibility, so we never have to miss the moments that matter, while still showing up fully for the amazing people we work with.

A proud parent moment we just had to share!

Our daughter’s fox painting has been selected to be exhibited at Black Swan Arts from today at midday! While she didn’t win a prize this time, there’s still a chance for her to win the People’s Award—and we’d love your support.

She’s absolutely thrilled to have her work on display (we’re bursting with pride too!) and we’ll be heading straight there to see it amongst the other incredible entries.

She’s always loved art—both at school and at home—and this piece is something she’s really poured her heart into. A few kind votes from the community would mean the world and give her a wonderful confidence boost.

Thank you so much to her Grampy, Melvin Glynn Art, for guiding and encouraging her through the project—she’s learnt so much and had the best time doing it.

💭 If I could sit down with my younger self for a cuppa, here’s what I’d say…

Looking back, I’ve learned that success isn’t a straight path - it’s a journey. From starting a business after redundancy to navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, I’ve realised that sometimes, you just have to trust yourself and take the leap. 🚀

If you’ve never reflected on how far you’ve come, I highly recommend it! It’s a game-changer for your mindset and your business.

✨ Oh, and the last photo? That’s 16-year-old me & Matt, back in Sixth Form, when we first got together! Who knew back then we’d go on to build a business (and a life) together?! 💛

Why ‘Neidin’(that's Neigh-deen)? 💚 The Story Behind Our Name

Ever wondered where ‘Neidin’ comes from? Someone recently asked if it was our surname, so we thought we’d share the story!

In spring 2013, we visited Kenmare, Ireland—a charming town nestled between the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara. From Chocolate making, spa treatments, boat trips, exploring the local areas and enjoying the lovely, quaint Irish bars with the ‘twiddly, diddly’ music, it was a holiday with memories to last a lifetime.

While on a boat tour (spotting seals, of course! 🦭), we learned that the town’s Irish name—Neidin—means ‘little nest’. The warmth of that meaning stuck with us.

A small business is just like a little nest—carefully built, nurtured, and protected so it can grow. And that’s exactly what we do! While you focus on building your business, we take care of the nest, handling social media, admin, and all those behind-the-scenes tasks that keep things running smoothly.

Let’s be honest - does anyone actually like January? 😅

For some, it’s all about fresh starts, planning, and productivity. For others, it’s about recovering from the festive mayhem.

For us? It’s a mix of both! December and January are whirlwind months in our house with:
🎂 Our two daughters' birthdays (one on 04/12 and the other one tomorrow 15/01)
🎄 Christmas chaos
🎭 School performances
🎅 Elf on the Shelf antics

We’ve been treading through treacle but are finally feeling like normality is on its way back.

Now that we’re getting into the swing of 2025, we’re focused on helping small businesses thrive by taking the stress out of social media, websites, and admin - so you can focus on smashing your goals this year.
