Middle East Travel Update - Important Information for Customers
We would like to provide an update following the recent escalation of conflict in parts of the Middle East on 28 February 2026.
This has resulted in airspace closures, flight cancellations and wider travel disruption across parts of the region, including Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is currently advising:
- Against all travel to Israel and Palestine
- Against all but essential travel to Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE

If you are due to travel:
If you have not yet travelled and cannot as a result of this conflict, for example, if your operator/carrier has cancelled your flight, please contact your tour operator or travel provider for a full refund. If your travel company cannot refund your money, you may be able to ask them to rearrange your holiday destination or date.
If you are due to transit through the region:
If you are scheduled to change planes at an airport in the affected region, your airline remains responsible for getting you to your final destination. If airspace restrictions or airport closures disrupt your journey, the airline should offer an alternative routing or a refund.
Before travelling, you should:
- Check the latest FCDO travel advice
- Monitor updates from your airline
- Contact your airline directly if you wish to discuss rerouting options
Travel advice and flight schedules may change at short notice, so please check regularly before departure.
If you are already abroad:
Please follow FCDO and local authority guidance at all times.
If your return journey is disrupted, contact your airline or tour operator first, as they are responsible for assisting with alternative travel arrangements.
Emergency medical cover continues for customers who travelled before official advice changed, subject to policy terms.
Important to Know
Most travel insurance policies contain exclusions relating to war or military conflict, which may limit cover in certain circumstances.
There is generally no cover for events that were known at the time a trip was booked or a policy was purchased.
All claims are assessed in line with the specific terms and conditions of the individual policy.
