A productive site visit this week as SL Quantity Surveying SW Limited carried out the first valuation assessment for a local contractor ATW Bricklaying & General Building Limited on a small rear extension and internal remodelling project in Exeter.

Having previously prepared the initial cost plan to support the contractor's tender and budgeting process, we are now providing the full commercial support function throughout the construction phase. Our involvement includes contract documentation, monthly valuations, variation assessments, cost control, and ongoing commercial management to help ensure the project remains financially on track.

Regular site visits allow us to accurately assess progress, review any changes to the scope of works, and provide timely commercial advice to both the contractor and client. Early engagement through the cost planning stage has helped establish a clear budget framework, enabling informed decisions as the project progresses.

We look forward to continuing to support the contractor and contributing to the successful delivery of another quality project in Exeter.

Another successful project handover completed in East Devon for a valued local contractor.

SL Quantity Surveying (SW) Limited has been proud to provide full commercial support throughout the project, including:

* Assessing and processing subcontractor payments
* Managing subcontractor variations and commercial accounts

Like many construction projects, there were challenges along the way, but through collaboration, communication, and proactive commercial management, the initial contract works have now been successfully signed off and completed.

It has been great to support another local contractor and see the project reach this important milestone. We now look forward to hopefully supporting the next phase of the development and helping this long-established local venue move one step closer to reopening to the public.

Every successful project is a journey of collaboration, creativity, and adaptation and this exciting residential scheme has certainly been no exception.

After exploring various design options and carefully refining the vision alongside the client and builder, the final proposed solution is now taking shape: a stunning single-storey lower level extension designed to create a balcony directly from the main living area, maximising both space and views.

At SL Quantity Surveying (SW) Limited, we have worked closely with both the client and the builder throughout the process, providing cost advice and commercial guidance to help navigate the various adaptations and ensure the project remained both practical and achievable.

We are pleased to confirm that the contract documents have now been drafted, with a start date anticipated within the next few weeks.

A fantastic evening at St James Park watching Exeter City Women FC take on Exeter University Women FC in what was a truly enjoyable game and the perfect example of football played in the true spirit of a friendly.

With plenty of substitutions throughout the match, it was a great opportunity to see lots of players getting valuable minutes and showcasing their talent in front of the fans at St James Park.

A competitive and entertaining match ended in a well-deserved 1-1 draw, with both sides putting in excellent performances.

Great to see women’s football continuing to grow locally and fantastic support from everyone in attendance!
