First year in SA? Here's what most operators wish someone had told them earlier.
The mistakes in this carousel aren't unusual — they're almost universal. Tracking total revenue instead of per-property profit. Spending peak revenue before building a reserve. Missing the VAT threshold. Treating security deposits as income.
None of it is complicated once you know. But fixing it after the fact — reconstructing books, paying backdated VAT, restructuring late — is expensive and stressful.
