Did you know you can reach the Social Interest Group through Convo?

If you're a BSL user accessing support with housing, finances, wellbeing or social care, you can reach the Social Interest Group through Convo, find them in the Convo Community Directory and connect with a qualified BSL interpreter whenever you need to.

Because the right support should never come with a communication barrier.

Social Interest Group has partnered with Convo to make it easier for Deaf people who use British Sign Language to access our services through interpreting services. SIG Penrose supports adults at risk of homelessness, involvement in the criminal justice system, hospital admission, and social exclusion. We work alongside people in communities, hospitals, prisons, and supported accommodation. If you need housing, health, wellbeing, or social care support, you can contact our team through Convo. We'll be happy to explain the services we offer and help you understand whether you may be eligible for support. Call them through the Community Directory on the Convo Now app, and it's already funded, so no cost to you. If you don't have Convo, download the app called "Convo Now", it is free or use the web browse via www.convo.io/uk With Social Interest Group and Convo, access is always in your hands.]

Accessible communication matters at every step. 💚

Through Convo, deaf BSL users referred to IncomeMax can be contacted with support from a BSL interpreter, helping make communication more accessible.

We loved visiting Glaze Café in Wolverhampton with Zebra Access CIO to meet the local deaf community.
We shared Convo Now features, introduced our Convo Access QR codes across Wolverhampton, and showed Convo live using the café's own QR code. The verdict from the community? "Seamless and easy!" 🙌

We’re proud to share that the West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust under HITS has partnered with Convo.

British Sign Language, BSL, users can now connect with the West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals through Convo and find them in the Convo Community Directory for remote conversations.

If you're visiting West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals in person, you can also use Convo Access by scanning the QR code to connect instantly with a qualified BSL interpreter on your own device, whenever you choose.

Whether you have medical emergency or need access to a health professional, this partnership makes it easier to connect, both remotely and in person.

This is another step towards communication that starts with you.

Today is International Translation Day.

Translation is not swapping one set of words for another. It is carrying meaning from one language into another without losing what matters, and taking responsibility for getting it right.

Our deaf translators do that every day, between English and BSL. A tenancy agreement. A hospital letter. A contract someone is about to sign. Work where almost right is not good enough.

BSL is their language. Translation is their profession. They are trained, qualified and very good at it.

Today we celebrate them.

A new name and a new look, but the heart of Convo has never changed: you, and the community we are part of.
