Our Isle of Man offices charity of the year for 2024 was the Manx Bat Group 🦇

Our Isle of Man team all have the opportunity to nominate a local charity and then a vote is held to decide who we will support. Grace Griffiths nominated The Manx Bat Group as she “just loves bats”!

Kevin Wells from the charity thanked ILS and said “thank you, we were delighted to be nominated, the money will be used to buy infra red equipment to monitor the local bats”.

Grace is pictured presenting the certificate to Kevin Wells, they will also receive £2,000.

At the Locate Isle of Man Graduate Fair back in April, we held free prize draw for all attendees.

Our winner was 🎉 Ryan Kelly 🎉who chose £100 worth of vouchers for Manx Telecom. Ryan said he will be putting the money towards a new phone!

Happy Earth Day! 🌍

Here at ILS we are proud to be a Unesco Biosphere Isle of Man partner! As a company we are always looking for ways to reduce our impact on the world around us. We have a cycle to work scheme, paperless offices, recycling bins as well as other green initiatives across our global network of offices.

We are also a corporate partner for the Manx Wildlife Trust and last year we took part in some restorative projects across the island including helping to rebuild some wetlands for wildlife and tree planting. We plan to do some more projects this year so keep an eye out! 🌿

Our ILS charity of the year is also the Manx Bat Group , where we will be supporting the charity alongside learning more about bats across our island. 🦇

Today is World Bat Day, which is rather fitting as this year our Isle of Man office has voted to support the Manx Bat Group (charity number 443). We met with the the chairman Kevin Wells and their Treasurer Bob Moon earlier in the year to learn more about the work the charity undertakes.

The Manx Bat Group was formed in 1990 following the introduction of the Wildlife Act, which provided legal protection to Manx bats for the first time. The Bat Group was set up to promote the knowledge, study and welfare of bats in and around the Isle of Man.

Did you know that the Isle of Man is home to 9 different species of bats (that we know of!) and one fifth of all mammals on earth are bats! 🦇

Since its formation the Bat Group has organised a regular summer programme of public bat walks, bat box making days, training events and talks to various groups about bats. to find out more visit manxbatgroup.org
