Full Time Collections Advisor
Conexus Recovery is seeking full collections advisors in our Derry/Londonderry office. Conexus Recovery is one of the leading debt recovery agency in Northern Ireland and UK mainland and works on behalf of major blue-chip lenders, high street banks and utility companies. Due to our outstanding reputation in this area we have gone from strength to strength resulting in ongoing expansion and therefore more opportunities to join our exciting company. Conexus Recovery are not your typical contact centre; we work on behalf of banking, utility, and retail finance companies whose customers have fallen behind with their repayments.
As a Collections Advisor, you will report to your Team Leader and be responsible for:

• Dealing with inbound and outbound customer calls, replying to customers emails
• Speaking with customers’ in a professional and empathetic manner
• Negotiating payments and payment plans
• Processing payments
• Following up on missed payments
• Referring customers to third parties who can offer independent help if required
• Update customer accounts with relevant notes and outcomes
• Ensuring all activities take place in accordance with our Company value, Data Protection principles, Treating Customer Fairly principles and Compliance

We’ll provide great training, helping you develop an in-depth knowledge of our processes and procedures, and giving you the communication and people skills you’ll need to deliver the high standards of service our customers expect.
Our training is comprehensive, you do not need previous financial experience however, to be a successful Collections Advisor you should have;

• Previous experience of working in a call centre
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to self-motivate and work well as part of a team with a positive attitude
• Strong listening and questioning skills
• Proven experience of dealing with vulnerable customers
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise daily workload whilst working accurately under pressure
• A genuine drive to deliver excellence and work towards KPI’s
• A good level of computer literacy with ability to pick up new skills easily

Why work for us;

We offer a competitive salary starting at £17,250 which increases when you pass the probation period to £18,000. Your working hours are 35 hours per week. Your shifts are rostered between 9am & 8pm Monday to Friday, and Saturdays between the hours of 9am & 1pm. This is a permanent, full-time position and contracts currently available for immediate start.

Training may be located in our Coleraine office, once completed you will transfer to our Derry/Londonderry Office.

Because our training is so comprehensive, you don’t need a background in finance or banking, although if you have this then that would be preferable. You do need experience of helping customers; answering queries and sorting out any problems.

Duties - Collections Advisor

* Dealing with inbound and outbound customer calls
* Following up on missed payments
* Managing a set of accounts that are in arrears by negotiating repayment plans to meet the customer's affordability
* Completing Income and Expenditure forms
* Referring customers to third parties who can offer independent help if required
* Recording comprehensive and accurate notes on customer applications
* Delivering high standards of customer service
* Ensuring all activities take place in accordance with our company value and customer charter, Data Protection principles, Treating Customer Fairly principles and Compliance

Skills - Collections Advisor

* Previous experience of working in a call centre
* Strong team player with a positive attitude
* Proven ability to demonstrate excellent negotiation skills
* Proven experience of dealing with vulnerable customers
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise daily workload whilst working accurately under pressure
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
