Today, we join credit unions around the world in celebrating the difference the movement has made to people and communities.

The first community credit union in Ireland was established in Donore, Dublin, in 1958.

Just two years later, Derry Credit Union was founded in 1960, becoming the first credit union in Northern Ireland and the earliest in the UK.

From those early beginnings, the movement continued to grow through one simple idea: people within a community saving together and helping one another access fair, responsible financial support.

At Faughanvale Credit Union, that same community spirit remains at the heart of what we do.

From helping members build regular savings to providing access to responsible borrowing, we’re proud to continue serving our local community.
