Today we’re celebrating the fantastic work credit unions do in communities across England, helping people save for the future and borrow safely.

We’re proud to work closely with credit unions to help reduce the risk of people turning to loan sharks.

Through our savings incentive schemes, we use money recovered from convicted loan sharks under the Proceeds of Crime Act to help people build their savings and improve their financial resilience.

And it’s making a real difference. Between April 2025 and April 2026:

✅ 1,853 members received a savings bonus
💷 More than £330,000 was saved at the three-month point
👏 The average savings balance was £180

A huge thank you to all the credit unions working with us to provide safe, affordable and ethical alternatives to illegal lenders.

Cyber security isn’t just an IT issue but it’s something that affects every organisation, business and individual.

For businesses, protecting information, accounts, passwords and financial details is essential. A single compromised account or successful phishing attempt can have a real impact on both your organisation and the people you support.

This month, we’re sharing some practical advice to help members, staff and other organisations stay aware of common threats from phishing and scams to password security and protecting financial information.

It’s worth taking a few minutes to check your own organisation’s security practices and make sure your colleagues know what to look out for.

💬 Back at Reach for Money Matters!

On Wednesday 23rd September, we were back at Reach Community Grocery for our second Money Matters session.

It was another great opportunity to have real conversations about money – from budgeting and saving to building confidence when managing everyday finances.

We really enjoy being part of these sessions. They’re about creating a relaxed space where people can ask questions, share experiences and learn from each other.
