A single idea.

A shift in perspective.

An honest conversation.

And everything changes.

On Wednesday 25th March, we’re bringing that energy together in one room.

📍 Hotel Gotham, Newcastle (yes - the only 5-star hotel in the city)
⏰ 10am–1pm (with drinks afterwards, of course 🍸)

Introducing the Tennick Accountants Business Improvement Summit.
This isn’t another networking event.

It isn’t theory.

And it definitely isn’t death-by-PowerPoint.

It’s for business owners who want more:
⏳ More time
💰 More money
🕊 More freedom

Freedom from firefighting.
Freedom from uncertainty.
Freedom to actually enjoy the business you’ve built.

VIP tickets quietly went out last week - and the response has been incredible.

We have a small batch remaining for those who want the full experience.
This Wednesday, we’ll release a limited number of early bird tickets before general sale opens next week.

If you’re serious about improving your business in 2026 - this is the room you’ll want to be in.

Watch the video below to get a feel for what’s coming.

If you’d like priority access before general sale, comment SUMMIT below or send us a direct message.

Let’s make 2026 the year your business works for you - not the other way around.

Something big is coming.

It has been years in the making and for those at UK Startup & Scaleup Week next week you'll be the first to get a sneak peek

Cannot wait to share more after it was first inspired off the back of a number of events and conversations that has changed our life and the lives of those clients we support at Tennick Accountants

Cannot wait to change more lives, one conversation at a time ...

Within 5 minutes of their release and 25% went!

Our joint event with Tennick Accountants and Allica Bank; in the words of Daniel Priestley is fast approaching being 'Oversubscribed'.

'Unstoppable: own your legacy' is going to be epic!
We released our first batch of tickets to those who first registered on our waiting list at 11am on Saturday and 25% were snapped up within 5 minutes.

We will be releasing two more batches but I'm starting to realise what the guys at Glastonbury feel like (okay yes I am stretching things a little, though Mark Deeks is bringing the musical element to the day) and Alfie Joey the fun element (no pressure).

You might be asking why put together this event?

I absolutely love the North and am proud to say where I am from; but we don’t love ourselves enough!

There are some amazing success stories from individuals and businesses in this region, but we are often too proud and reserved to tell anybody about this. Unfortunately, the same applies to those individuals and businesses that struggle, and who do this alone.

At Tennick Accountants we want to amplify the voices of those that have been successful and struggled to help more people be heard; no matter what stage of the business journey, to elevate the North to the platform it should rightly be standing on, but for which does not take the credit it deserves.

We need to inspire people to ask for help, to think differently, to think better and ultimately help them be the best version of themselves inside and outside of their business.

This is my aim from the event, and if you can relate to any of the above, I would love for you to register below to get your ticket before they all go.

Another fantastic event with Paul Lancaster this morning UK Startup Week .

Just wanted to share a resource to help those businesses seeking funding where NBSL might be able to help.

This can cover multiple areas including marketing, growth and succession planning.

We are already helping a number of companies access and make great use of the funding.

Get in touch if anybody needs some help.

❤️What are we passionate about at Tennick Accountants and what are we doing about it in 2024?

🙄We recognise the mental strain on any business owner out there. We will subsequently ensure that for every business owner that even just engages with us in looking for us to support them, we will be supporting the charity Mind in helping ensure "no mind is left behind".

Our donations will be supporting the provision of frontline staff to support those in need.

We're going further though.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Recognising that so many business owners sacrifice their own wishes and dreams and valuable time with families, we're giving back. For every new client we take on, we are supporting the Make A Wish Charity to help grant life-changing wishes for critically ill children.

We don't stop there though.

🎁Acknowledging how so many families continue to struggle after already working so many hours and often multiple jobs, we are again supporting Feeding Families (UK) and Cash for Kids this Christmas. So that families can focus on what matters most, we just need get all of our clients personal tax returns submitted by 30 November.

We link actions to goals where and this is where a real impact is made which ties back to our 360 approach.

Feelings are everything:

"It made us feel empowered and more content with the running of our business, happy with our progress and excited about what things we can now afford"

We recognise the importance of feelings and track how we make clients feel at Tennick Accountants to ensure we have more happy clients like this one.

They were another client that has just come to end of year 1 on our Group Accountability Programme.

P.S. even my youngest has got the sense of this after she nailed it at the school fair and raised over £100

Last week was a blast!

"Compliance is a begrudged purchase" or in other words nobody truly loves paying an accountant to prepare a set of accounts and a tax return.

From visiting our advertising sites at Newcastle Airport with Carole Bennett, James Ibbitson (who will soon be sharing the video he shot) and Lisa Lockhart.

We then finished the day by recording a podcast with the amazing Colin Hewitt of Float Cash Flow Forecasting

The theme for the day resonated throughout in terms of accountants should be helping business owners LIVE a better story.

This requires change inside and outside of the accounting profession from schools, to accountancy bodies, to accountancy firms, to business owners.

"The one-eyed mind is the monster in the land of the blind" and we at Tennick Accountants are alert to this fact and acting on what we see and researching what we don't.

Cannot wait to hear the podcast and watch the video we release from the airport

It's about the journey and what you take from it so let me share some of my challenges and lessons taken away.

When I was at PwC I'll be honest I struggled at times and often didn't feel like I was good enough during the first year.

I convinced myself that I needed to stick at it though and in my second year went on to help project manage the building and management of a team in India. This experience is invaluable now that we are today using this same experience as part of my CFO role with R.E.P.R.E.S.E.N.T

Back in 2021 we recognised that the values and vision of Tennick Accountants were not fully aligned with those everybody within it. It was my job to put it right and that meant tears in the office, questions from everybody around me within and outside of the business.

Out of this we built a bigger and better business and even helped those who left our business find success elsewhere with other firms.

Early this year in 2024 we lost some work we never anticipated losing due to cost cutting from clients.

Now rather than see this as a sign of not succeeding, we used it to reinforce where we were already building so we could be stronger. We started our sense of belonging project last year and this is aimed at ensuring once affordability issues are overcome, then price should never be a defining factor when it comes to choosing whether to work with us.

We have since then started rolling this out with huge success. The start of the year just reinforced the need for and ensuring there was an aligned sense of purpose with ourselves and clients. This then always needs to be front of mind and tracked continuously.

Business is far from a bed of roses when reading what is posted online but during times of struggle we find strength and we find resilience that allows us and others around us be better.

England might not have brought the trophy home but the boys at Cramlington United did yesterday.

Their first trophy win and super proud for Tennick Accountants to be sponsors and huge credit to the boys and coaches Kris and Marc.

You can clearly see the togetherness across the group and how much this means to them all.
