Pennant Finance are proud to have once again sponsored the Welsh Black Cattle Society's Bull of the Year Competition.

Although we were unable to attend the Society's AGM this weekend, we were delighted to see the presentation take place, with Mr Gethin Hughes receiving the £250 winner's prize, commemorative plate and framed photograph of the winning bull from the Society President, Mr William Davies.

Congratulations to Mr Hughes on this well-deserved achievement, and our thanks to the Welsh Black Cattle Society for their continued work in promoting this iconic breed.

WOW!! What an amazing summer show season! With more Welsh Black Cattle out in the rings again this year! A huge thank you must go to the members for exhibiting and promoting the breed!

The Bull and Female of the Year results will be shared soon!

Part of the team took the opportunity to attend the Farming Connect event in Caernarfon last night, focusing on Universal Actions and Dashboard Support for the Sustainable Farming Scheme.

With so much information for farmers to take on board, the Universal Actions can understandably feel quite overwhelming. Wendy Jenkins of CARA delivered a really useful and practical session, helping farmers understand what is required, review their progress, identify any outstanding actions and make sure their records and dashboard are fully up to date.

The session provided a great opportunity for farmers to ask questions and break down what can initially seem like a complicated process into more manageable steps.

The turnout, despite the weather, really highlighted how important this support is to farmers who want to make sure they are prepared and have everything in place to meet the requirements of the SFS.

A really worthwhile evening with plenty of useful information to take away. There are further sessions taking place this week, with tonight's session being held in Ruthin.
