January 2023 - 101km
January 2024 - 251km

When I started running just under 18 months ago, one of my friends, who is a very experienced runner told me that running gives you back what you put into it...and he was right...obviously...he's an experienced runner!

The difference between those two numbers is a perfect illustration of how right he was...

I've had some fantastic experiences and met some amazing people doing this over the last 12 months...here's to the next 12 months and beyond...

Starting this was one of my better decisions and I'm grateful to be able to do it every time I lace up my running shoes ❤️🏃

Today was the first Parkrun I have not ran for over a year. It was a tactical decision due to running a tough cross-country event later in the day.

Instead myself, Dan Meecham and Lee Goodyear pulled on the pink volunteer vests at Basildon Parkrun and it was most enjoyable, and also freezing cold!

Well done to the 201 runners that turned up to run 5K at 9am. It was great to help out and to see Parkrun from another perspective...what a lovely core team at Basildon, and we even got a bit of cake at the end 😀

Today I completed my 17th Parkrun, which brought a new PB of 23.37, knocking 12 seconds off of my previous best effort! 😀

I only started running in October last year and love how it gives you back what you put in to it.

It was a beautiful, bright but freezing cold start. I was not expecting to be quick today but felt good once we got going and managed to avoid the ice. Thanks to the amazing volunteers for getting out early and marking it with cones to keep us all safe.

Sadly there were no sausage rolls available in the cafe at the end today so I had to settle for a cheese scone instead. I basically do this so that I can eat all the food!
