Colchester Pride is a local charity that provides year-round events, support, education and community engagement for LGBTQIA+ people across Colchester and Essex. Through their annual Pride festival and activities throughout the year, they help create safe, inclusive spaces that educate, entertain and empower.

We’re honoured to support the incredible work they do and to play a small part in helping build a more inclusive community for everyone.

Today we celebrate ten years of Gemstone Mortgages! 🥳

What started as just little old me in a tiny office above an estate agents, after leaving a corporate role and deciding to take the leap and go it alone… has grown into something I could only have dreamed of 🥹

From hiring my very first admin, to moving into our own office on North Hill, to now being a team of eight incredible women - watching Gemstone grow into a recognised and trusted brand within our local community and the wider mortgage industry has meant everything to me ❤️

There have been challenges, uncertain markets, stressful moments and plenty of learning curves along the way… but Gemstone truly is my baby - and I’m so proud of everything we’ve built together over the last decade 💎

What makes me proudest of all though, is the team around me. Loyal, hardworking, supportive, genuine grafters and wonderful friends. I honestly feel so lucky to have found them. 🫶🏻

To celebrate this milestone and say thank you for everything they do, I’m whisking the team away for a little retreat together… think matching Gemstone pyjamas (obvs), Karaoke, games and good food - just genuine lovely time together 🥰

So here’s to 10 years of Gemstone.

I’m calling on your support (and maybe your spare pennies too!! 🤪)

Our wonderful Hollie sadly lost her dad last year. During such an incredibly difficult time, the care and support she and her family received from Farleigh Hospice was invaluable.

Now, Hollie and her family are taking part in the Farleigh Hospice Walk for Life on Sunday 10th May, to give something back to this amazing charity. The care they provide is completely free, and only possible thanks to donations and fundraising events like this.

So if you’re able to, please consider donating - every little really does make a difference. Let’s support our girl 🫶🏻

Well… this was a nice surprise this morning! 🤩

Gemstone Mortgages has been named a finalist at the 2026 Financial Reporter Awards for ‘Mortgage Broker of the Year (up to ten employees)’ 🎉

A big thank you to the judges for recognising what we’re building and seeing us as worthy of being a finalist - that genuinely means a lot.

And of course, a huge shoutout to the team, who work tirelessly day in, day out to make it all happen. This one is very much down to you 💎

As always, thank you to our amazing clients and partners for the continued support - we wouldn’t be here without you.

My team is at the heart of everything I do, and this recognition is really for them. I’m so lucky to work with such an incredible group of people every day, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve built together.
