π Update on Companies House profit and loss filing
Small companies and micro-entities were expected to face new rules requiring profit and loss accounts to be filed publicly at Companies House.
However, the government has now paused these plans and confirmed the reforms are under review, with no revised implementation date currently announced.
For now, the existing rules remain in place. Small companies can continue filing reduced accounts without making detailed profit information publicly available, although full accounts must still be prepared for shareholders and other relevant parties.
This will be welcome news for many small businesses concerned about commercially sensitive information being placed on the public record. However, this should be seen as a pause rather than a permanent reversal.
If you are unsure what your company needs to file, we are happy to help.
