Sadly, due to the low level of interest, we have made the difficult decision to stop running our Repair Cafe sessions. These began in the early days of Repair Cafe Wales back in 2019 and we came through Covid, lots of changes of 'fixers', and a change of venue. But the time has come to celebrate what has been, and move on. Thanks to those who have visited us. If you have something needing a repair you can visit Pontardawe or Swansea Repair Cafes on the third Saturday of each month (see RCW website for details), or go to the Swansea Repair Hub at the Environment Centre on Thursdays and Fridays 10-4.

Anything you need fixing? Why not leave a message on 07790 546890 with info about your item - make, model, what's wrong - and we'll get back to you with an appointment for our session on May 9th if we think it's something we can work on. Our main expertise is with bikes, electricals, woodwork, mechanical items, and small fabric and soft toy mending jobs may be possible.

Any Repair Cafe event you visit in Wales will help contribute to the Big Fix 2026! So don’t be shy and visit your local repair cafe in May! 🛠️❤️

Big thanks to everyone who continues to bring in food items, toiletries etc and cash donations to Ty Croeso for the Foodbank. Demand has been high recently, so your donations are so much appreciated. If you need a voucher please phone the central Swansea Foodbank number 07815 534095 or get one from e.g.health visitor, social worker, Red Cross worker, etc. Getting a voucher in advance, if you can, saves time and makes your visit to us more relaxed. If you really can't get one by Tuesday morning then call in and we will try to help in whatever way we can.

This is the second time full black waste bags have been dumped outside Ty Croeso. Unfortunately there is no CCTV or door bell footage around to show who is doing this. If you should see anyone leaving bags there any time, please note their car registration and/or any distinguishing features of the people concerned and either let ourselves or the Council know (they are fully aware that this is not our waste, especially as we never put any waste of any description out ourselves, though there can sometimes be a small amount of waste there from the tenant at the back). Thank you.

A reminder about the help available through New Pathways with whom we have partnered in the past (pre Covid, a short course supporting victims waiting for counselling to start).

We have offices across Wales, where you can access support after sexual violence. If you would like to speak to someone, call 01685 379 310.

A rather unusual item at our Repair Cafe this month - an electric key cutter. After a very long 'process of elimination' our fixers (2 of them working in tandem!) found the problem and managed a simple solution. It was one of our more challenging fixes. Brilliant work from John and Ron.
