Back in the day, bridging finance was mostly used for chain breaks.

You know the sort of thing.

You are trying to sell your house but the sale is slower than slow . Before it's sold you see your dream house up for sale. You don't want to lose your dream new home but as yours hasn't sold, you need something to 'bridge the gap'.
