Some breathing space for haulage. But the pressure is far from over.

Today’s Budget announcement extending the existing 5p-per-litre fuel-duty cut until July 2027 is welcome news for hauliers, helping avoid another increase in fuel duty over that period.

But preventing an extra cost is not the same as removing the pressures businesses are already facing. Fuel, employment, vehicle and maintenance costs continue to challenge the industry.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month — a good reminder to give your business’s online security a little attention.

These four habits are a useful place to start:

🔐 Give every account its own password. Use strong, unique passwords and a reputable password manager to remember them for you.

🛡️ Switch on multi-factor authentication (MFA). That extra security check adds another layer of protection, even if someone gets hold of your password.

🎣 Report it, don’t reply. Suspicious email or unexpected link? Pause before you click and report it to your IT team.
