I would like to highlight some exceptional service provided by the Eastbourne team, specifically Charlotte Hill, Branch Manager and Keely Featherstone, Commercial Account Executive – as despite resource challenges, an acquisition book going live and illness, they both went above and beyond to help our client in her time of need.

Our client is a 91-year-old with mobility issues, lives alone with no immediate or reliable support system, lit a candle and fell asleep. With no smoke detectors in the property, it was a true miracle she made it out alive.

As seen from the photos, her property has suffered extensive fire and smoke damage, she has lost all of her possessions with few salvageable and is faced with nowhere to live for the next 12-18 months.

Charlotte arranged temporary accommodation, an immediate BACS payment to the client for essentials, and purchased a new walker to allow the client to get about (Mrs Black is fiercely independent but a bit unsteady on her feet).

Keely has been phenomenal in visiting the client, ensuring she was comfortable and had everything she needed, taken her to the doctors this morning to ensure they are aware of situation and sorting repeat medication etc.

The Branch has even encouraged Mrs Black to attend their Just Friends (Local Social Group for older people) Coffee Morning event they are hosting on Saturday this week.
