Hey,
I want to share with you, 4 Key Lessons Regarding Multiple Revenue Streams, that I've learned along the way.
But first I want to give you some insight to how I came about learning these lessons in the first place, as it wasn't that straight forward and there was a lot of pain on route.
The first time I was working for a sales company, albeit a short time, heavily relying on that income, selling 45hrs a week of my time for an ok salary with commission and car etc.
It was the kind of job that was OK enough to have fun, paid well enough not to look elsewhere and was long enough so that you had zero energy to think of building something for yourself.
Then through no fault of my own, I found myself out of job as the company went bust with no prior warning.
Scratching around doing random jobs to earn money, I had a brief spell in recruitment and soon realised I could probably do this for myself.
Which I did, I enjoyed about 3-4 successful years, extremely busy, expanded and sold the business to a company who wanted to make my company part of chain.
However that also came with me having a boss to answer to again and insecure management on my level.
Again, the company soon imploded, and to be honest I hated what I did and couldn’t really trust anybody in that environment.
A spell of regrouping and retraining in things that I’m actually passionate about meant that my entrepreneurial journey had ceased for around 5 years, I working here and there then had a two year spell in an overseas investment company where I learnt so much of what to do and so much more of what not to also.
It was time to break out on my own again, using my newly acquired skills in investing in overseas real estate and managed fund products. My financial situation sky rocketed, to be honest it was a nice feeling, I love doing deals and creating things from noting. Unfortunately for me this was to be short lived.
The company I chose to do business with decided to change the goal posts on me quite frequently which in turn had a huge impact on my income and also plans to grow my business. that income was an substantial amount, enough to keep me compliant and controlled but no where near what was actually agreed initially.
As time went on the relationship grew more and more sour, trust clearly broken and the stress of it all cost my relationship and nearly my home , for second time in my life. But with one difference.
This time I learnt 4 lessons that have always stuck with me.
1. Its important that whatever you do, you must love it, because when inevitably gets tough you need to be able to love it enough to fight for it.
2. Multiple streams of income are paramount to long term success! Relying on one source of income keeps you extremely vulnerable. Even if you have a brand or business that is known for one thing, there needs to be variations of what you offer in order to create an eco system that pays you in many different ways.
3. Work smarter not harder, how much or many of your income streams can you make “passive” or systematize meaning that you’re earning income 24/7, which requires no extra consistent effort from you at all?
4. Environment, I found mentors and coaches that are experienced in this field and I started to learn from them how they would have different businesses or variations of the same, Joint ventures with people or leveraging the time, skill and energy of others for a return on investment.
This is what I want to talk to you about today. Since these lessons I have a coaching business both on and offline and has an entire ecosystem built around helping others and with elements of it creating passive incomes.
