FISHERY UPDATE – WEEKLY NEWS

The recent shift in weather has made a huge difference across the complex. After the heat wave, the arrival of rain and lower-pressure conditions has really switched the fish on, with noticeably stronger feeding activity and plenty of action on every lake. Anglers have been reporting stacks of bites throughout the day, with fish feeding confidently in a range of areas and methods producing well across the board. The cooler, wetter conditions have clearly encouraged fish to move and feed more freely, creating some excellent opportunities for both regulars and visiting anglers. With the forecast remaining unsettled, now is a great time to get down and make the most of the increased activity. Tight lines to everyone fishing the complex!

It has been a staggering week of action on Kellet Lake, with bites coming steadily and several impressive fish over the 30lb mark. Daniel Finigan enjoyed a great session, landing eight fish including five over 20lb, with his biggest reaching 24lb. Max Dawson also added to the week’s tally with four fish during his 48-hour session. Alan Branagh had an amazing three-night stay, banking an incredible 14 fish, including one of Kellet’s characters—the Cut Tail Koi at 33lb. Regular angler Len Woodworth capped off a great weekend with four fish to his name: 20lb, 22lb, 26lb and 31lb. A brilliant week on Kellet Lake, with plenty of feeding activity.

Kendal Lake has not been far behind Kellet for bites this past week, with plenty of fish feeding well and some lovely catches reported. Mark Nolan and his family enjoyed a productive couple of days on the lake, landing five fish between them. Their catch included fish of 16lb, 17lb, 19lb, 21lb and 23lb—a great result for the family session. Earlier in the week, Declan Cross also had a productive session, banking four fish including a couple of cracking 20lb-plus carp.
Another strong week on Kendal Lake, with the fish clearly in the mood to feed.

FISHERY UPDATE – WEEKLY NEWS

As the weather begins to cool, the fish have really started to feed. Multiple 30lb-plus carp have been landed across the complex, giving anglers plenty to be excited about. Fishing over bait has been the most successful tactic, with well-prepared spots continuing to produce bites. With the settled weather forecast to continue, conditions look promising for more fish to get their heads down over the coming days. Good luck to everyone heading out-keep the bait going in and stay patient.

Kellet Lake has been the top-performing lake on the Clear Water Complex this week, flying with action and producing plenty of bites for anglers. Several of the bigger residents have also made an appearance on the bank. Earlier in the week, Jay and Sean each landed a cracking mirror, weighing 24lb and 25lb respectively. Nick Wolstenholme had Taylor’s Fish at an impressive 33lb, along with a lovely 23lb mirror. Fishery regular Boldy Paul has also enjoyed a productive week, banking seven carp in total, with several weighing over 20lb. Declan Priestley rounded off a cracking weekend with six fish, including a 29lb grass carp and a 28lb mirror. All of his fish fell to bait presented in the far-bank margins. With fish responding well to bait, Kellet Lake is certainly the place to be at the moment.

Kendal Lake has not been far behind Kellet this week, producing plenty of action and seeing two 30lb-plus carp grace the bank. Earlier in the week, Brad enjoyed a good session, landing three carp including a cracking 33lb mirror. Joe Harrison also had a productive weekend, banking several fish including the impressive ATB at 32lb and ounces—not your typical day-ticket carp! John Alan Peart rounded things off with a productive session of his own, landing six fish to just over 20lb. Kendal is clearly fishing well at the moment, with plenty of opportunities for those looking to get amongst the fish.

Alex and Benji Gill enjoyed a great dad-and-lad session on Penners Pool, banking five fish between them. Most of the carp fell in the mid-double range, with a cracking 17lb mirror proving to be the star of the show. A memorable session and plenty of action for the pair!
