ποΈ A Building with History. A Hub with Purpose. π·
Did you know that the Carluke Banking Hub is operating from a building with over 100 years of banking history?
Our hub at 3 Kirkton Street, Carluke is located within the former Bank of Scotland branch, a building that many local residents will remember well. Historical records and local knowledge suggest the premises originally operated as the British Linen Bank, making this site a long-standing part of Carlukeβs financial history.
Built in the late Victorian or early Edwardian period, likely between 1890 and 1910, the building was purpose-built as a banking premises. With its traditional stone frontage, large banking windows, and secure internal layout, it was designed specifically to serve the people and businesses of Carluke.
Over the decades, the building has adapted with the times:
β‘οΈ Originally serving as a traditional bank branch
β‘οΈ Later becoming Bank of Scotland
β‘οΈ And now proudly serving the town once again as the Carluke Banking Hub
What makes this so special is that the building has come full circle.
More than a century ago, it was built to provide face-to-face banking services to the community and today, it continues to do exactly that.
The difference now is that instead of serving one bank, the Carluke Banking Hub supports customers from multiple banks under one roof, ensuring the town continues to have access to essential cash and banking services.
This is more than just a building.
It is part of Carlukeβs story.
And we are proud to be part of its next chapter. β€οΈ
