🚜 We’re recruiting! Commercial Marketing Executive – Insurance + Financial Services

Are you a marketing professional who enjoys understanding customers, spotting opportunities and making a real difference?

We’re looking for a Commercial Marketing Executive to join our friendly and experienced team in Carlisle, Cumbria.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our new marketing team, helping us connect with customers in the right way, at the right time, and make sure they understand how we can support them.

You’ll work closely with our sales, advisory and customer service teams to:
• Plan and coordinate campaigns, customer communications and events
• Develop customer journeys that support new business and existing customers
• Use customer insight and campaign results to identify opportunities
• Help create engaging content and digital communications
• Support social media and wider marketing activity
• Identify appropriate opportunities to connect customers with other H+H services
• Track results and use what you learn to make our marketing even better

We’re looking for someone who is organised, curious, commercially minded and enjoys working with people. Experience in marketing, CRM, customer journeys or lead nurture would be valuable, while experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated environment would be an advantage.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who cares about doing things well, understanding our customers and making a positive difference.

You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as H+H brings its specialist businesses closer together, creating even more opportunities to support our customers.

🐄🐑 Celebrating the next generation at Hesket Newmarket Show 🌿

What better setting for the finals of the Young Handlers competition than Hesket Newmarket Agricultural Society Show, with the fells providing the perfect backdrop for a truly traditional agricultural show.

Throughout the summer, we have been proud to sponsor the Young Handlers competitions at shows across the region, culminating in the finals at Hesket Newmarket show held recently.

There is a huge amount of time, care and commitment that goes into preparing livestock for the show ring - whether it’s sheep, dairy or beef cattle - and we believe it is important to encourage and support the youngsters who are taking part. They are the next generation of farmers and seeing their enthusiasm and dedication is fantastic.

Our Marketing Manager, Nina Oxley, was delighted to present the champions with their prizes, rosettes and sashes. Coming from a farming background herself, Nina knows just how important this kind of encouragement and support can be.

And that’s a wrap on our 2026 outdoor show season! 🌾🐄🐑

A fantastic day at Stokesley Show Ltd to bring another busy summer of agricultural shows to a close.

We may have been without our usual H&H stand today — unfortunately it came off second best to the weather at Wensleydale Show! 💨🙈 — but Corinne was still out and about catching up with clients, friends and familiar faces around the showfield.

From some fantastic livestock classes to everything else that makes our local agricultural shows so special, it was a brilliant reminder that being part of the rural community is about much more than simply putting up a stand.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped for a chat, a coffee or to say hello at a show this summer — and to all the committees, volunteers, exhibitors and competitors who put so much work into making these events happen.

That’s the outdoor shows finished… but we’re not quite done yet! Next stop, NORTH EAST LIVE in October. 🚜

And yes, Corinne apparently finished the season with cake. Well deserved, we think. 😂🍰

🐑 Another busy mart day for the H&H Insurance Brokers team!

Corinne is heading back to Middleton in Teesdale Mart today for the annual Swaledale Gimmer Lamb Show & Sale, with an impressive 3,675 gimmer lambs forward.

It’s great to see such a strong entry and another busy sale at Middleton. Local marts remain an important part of our farming communities, bringing people together as well as providing a marketplace for some of the very best livestock our region has to offer. 🐑

Meanwhile, Lisa and Aimee will be at Hexham Mart today, catching up with clients and familiar faces.

🚜 Is your insurance keeping pace with your farm business?

As farms evolve, so do their insurance needs. New buildings, changing livestock numbers, machinery, vehicles, diversification projects or changes to your business structure can all affect the cover you need.

Corinne Cooper, Associate Director, explains why keeping your insurance up to date is essential:

"One key consideration is underinsurance - when the value declared on your policy is less than the true cost of rebuilding or replacing your assets. If you need to make a claim, this could leave you facing a significant shortfall.

It’s important to regularly review the values of your buildings, machinery, livestock and other assets, particularly as construction and replacement costs change.

And don’t wait until renewal to speak to your broker - keep them informed of changes as they happen - from new farm buildings and diversification to changes in your business structure.

Insurance shouldn’t simply be an annual renewal exercise. It should form part of your wider business planning, helping protect what you’ve built and giving you confidence for the future."
