It was a privilege to visit Oak Field Primary School and celebrate their success as winners of the Terry Brenig-Jones Legacy Fund. 💙

The Terry Brenig-Jones Legacy Fund was established in memory of our Vice Chair, Terry Brenig-Jones, who is deeply missed by so many. Terry had a real passion for helping others, supporting local communities, and encouraging digital learning and IT skills for young people.

Through the fund, support has been given towards IT and coding resources for the children, helping create new opportunities for learning and creativity in the classroom.

During our visit, we had the pleasure of meeting some of the pupils and seeing them using the equipment and resources that had been purchased. They were a credit to the school, and it was wonderful to see how much they are enjoying everything.

It was also very special to be joined by Terry’s wife, sister-in-law and niece, and to see Terry’s legacy continuing to have such a positive impact within the community.

Thank you to the Financial Conduct Authority for taking the time to visit Wales and engage directly with local organisations and communities. We greatly appreciated the opportunity to discuss the experiences and concerns of our members, particularly around financial inclusion, access to affordable credit, and the barriers many people still face when accessing financial services.

At Cardiff and Vale Credit Union, we value the FCA’s willingness to listen and understand the realities facing consumers at a local level. It was wonderful to meet with newly retired Jane Hutt to personally thank her for her years of support for CVCU and the wider credit union movement in Wales.

Jane has always understood the value of community finance and the difference credit unions make in people’s lives through accessible, ethical and affordable financial services. Her support for financial inclusion across Wales has been greatly appreciated by the sector and the communities we serve.
