After sending our last goodbyes to the Class of ‘21, Kent Invest this year welcomes back the previous members and greets the new in our journey to delve into the absorbing world of financial markets.

All through the academic year, we will be bringing members a reinvigorated curriculum, one which:

• Shines a light on common perplexities
• Explores the different tenets of investing
• Offers valuable resources to bolster your employability

We will also be continuing to dish out exciting prizes in our end-of-meeting quizzes.

ANNOUNCEMENT ❗️ Hello all,

Starting tomorrow, those of you eyeing a position which best suits you will be able to run for next year Kent Invest’s board. The nominations and running for President and Treasurer are conducted in line with Kent Union’s guidelines.

Ensure you sign up through Kent Union to the Kent Invest Society to be eligible to vote. If you want to learn more, please do not hesitate to DM us or email us at [email protected]. Join us this Tuesday where we will also be outlining the details for the election.

Note, if you are looking to nominate yourself as a candidate for either President or Treasurer, you will have to submit a manifesto between the 22nd and 29th March. A good manifesto will be unique and should outline your motivations, objectives and how you look to better the society.
If you are applying for the four other roles (which are not subject to voting upon success) please regard to the final slide for details.

Active or not active, we call on those who are proactive and have exhibited demonstrated interest within the finance and investment sphere to apply!
All positions are perfect be-all end-all means of signalling your innate interest in finance to future employers in your CV and interviews.

🗣 We are delighted to announce the fifth of many external speakers and industry professionals at Kent Invest.

On Tuesday 2nd of March at 17:00 GMT we will be joined by Jim Leaviss, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at M&G Investments, who specialises in fixed income with a profound 30 years of experience in the industry and “Britain's best-known bond investor” according to The Daily Telegraph.

This will be a great opportunity to learn how to break into asset management and learn invaluable insights to propel your career. If you would like to be able to have the opportunity to learn more about his career and seems interesting.

Please note that a financial background is not necessary to partake in the trading challenge. We strongly encourage you to embrace the new opportunity as means of gradually upskilling your technical and fundamental repertoire.

Once you sign up via the link in our bio, you will be prompted to apply for the following positions:

• Equity Analyst:
As an equity analyst, you will fully immerse yourself in the activities of one of our industry coverage groups, working in a team led by a head analyst.

• Head Analyst*:
Head analysts comprise the primary roles for the trading challenge. They will each take charge of one sector/industry, and for this year, we will only have 5 head analysts. Head analysts, on a broad level, will seek to manage the equity analysts, and will be the focal point of the stock pitches, and will make sure that everything runs smoothly. As a head analyst, you will not only learn about our society, but also develop important relationships, and build career-enhancing skills.
