Caught up with my friend from today.

I went into the meeting thinking we would be talking business and that I’d be picking his brains about a project I’ve got in the pipeline.

But the conversation ended up going in a completely different direction.

We found ourselves sharing personal stories, opening up about life, and having one of those conversations that stays with you long after it ends.

Sometimes you do not realise how similar you are to someone until you slow down and really talk.

What started as a catch up ended up building a much stronger connection, and to be honest, that meant more than anything I originally expected from the meeting.

A reminder that not every conversation has to go to plan to be exactly what you needed.

Just a normal Tuesday.

Camel walking through the hotel in Egypt.
Ceiling collapsing back home.
Macerator broken.
Pest issue reported.
Maintenance issue reported.

And I’m trying to put my phone down and be fully present with my kids while it keeps buzzing.

This is the real balance.
Building freedom and learning how to actually live in it.

Not passive.
Just portable.
Still worth it.

On paper, it was an easy no.
In real life, it wasn’t.

I looked at the facts.
I listened to trusted people.
And I chose to lead with humanity.

Property is a business.
But it’s still about people.
And sometimes, doing the right thing matters more than doing the easy thing.

Today I broke a wooden arrow with my neck.

Not strength. Focus. Commitment. Trusting the process and pushing forward without hesitation. A powerful reminder of how mindset plays a huge role when you’re building anything meaningful in life or business.

Being in the right room, with the right people, having real conversations makes all the difference. Familiar faces, new connections and clarity on what actually matters next.

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, reset and grow.
