Hundred Houses Celebrates 93 Years!
We were delighted to celebrate Hundred Houses Society’s AGM on 22nd September, bringing together residents, shareholders, new and existing Board and Committee members, colleagues, local councillors and partners.
It was a positive opportunity to reflect on our achievements, celebrate our 93rd birthday and recognise the people and partnerships behind our work to provide safe, affordable homes and support thriving communities across Cambridge.
The day included a tour of selected HHS homes, giving guests the chance to see our investment in warm homes initiatives and to connect with residents and the wider community.
The formal meeting was introduced by the Mayor of Cambridge, Cllr Maria Cleminson, who reflected on the vital importance of safe, secure and affordable homes, describing a home as “much more than a building” and as a place where people can put down roots and feel part of a community. She praised Hundred Houses Society’s long-standing contribution to Cambridge since its foundation in 1933 and welcomed our continued focus on warm homes, sustainability and partnership working.
Reflecting on the AGM, Matt Thomas, Chief Executive of Hundred Houses Society, said: “It was a proud moment to bring people together to celebrate our history and look to the future. HHS has been part of Cambridge for more than 90 years, and that sense of local purpose still matters deeply. I am hugely grateful to our residents, colleagues, Board members, shareholders and partners, whose commitment helps us continue providing safe, affordable homes and supporting thriving local communities.”
