No, generally there's no difference for a self-employed First Time Buyer. You can go for shared ownership, Joint Borrower Sole Proprietor, zero deposit mortgages, enhanced affordability and even Buy to Let mortgages for property investment.
These are just some of the types of mortgage that are available. However, each lender has different criteria, and the key thing is how your income is assessed by each one and how much they will lend you. Some lenders are more favourable to the self-employed than others.
